|
| Q: |
How long will it take to get my survey project completed? |
|
| A: |
How long a survey project will take to
complete is dependent on several factors, including data collection method
(i.e., web survey, mail survey, fax survey, phone survey, etc.), length of survey, type of information collected,
reporting requirements, degree of customization, task force or committee
review process and numerous other factors. Real Measures can turn
around a short, straightforward web survey project in approximately
three days (including one day of data collection). Mail survey
projects generally take the most time to complete, as we must allow time
in the mail to participants, data entry time and time in the mail for
completed surveys. Please email the details of your survey
project to Real Measures (Realinfo@RealMeasures.com),
and RMi
can estimate the turnaround time for your specific project.

| Q: |
Is information submitted on web surveys secure? |
|
| A: |
Information submitted on the web may be intercepted
by determined experts, just as fax, mail and email may be
intercepted. For survey or data collection projects where security
and data confidentiality is a crucial issue, Real Measures can put your
customized survey on a secure web server using SSL (Secure Socket
Layers). This will encrypt the data being submitted by participants,
preventing interception by hackers.

| Q: |
Why should I pay for your
services instead of conducting the survey in-house? |
|
| A: |
Each step of the survey process benefits from years of expertise in the survey process.
There are various web-based tools for administering surveys on the web. Word processors, printers and copiers make it simple to deliver a survey to participants. However, just because someone can operate a word processor does not mean that they can write a good book. The same principle applies to surveys.
Designing survey instruments requires an understanding not only of language, but of data and the reporting implications of various options of asking questions. For more information on some of the very basic principles of designing a member satisfaction survey, click here for the source text of an article John Burnham, RMi’s founder, wrote for the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE).
Designing survey reports requires an understanding of the way to read the story the data can tell. This is not just simple mathematics, but a true understanding of what the data means and the best ways to present the data to turn it into actual information you can use. Developing this understanding requires years of experience on numerous surveys. RMi has the experience to conduct surveys efficiently and effectively.
